Family of woman missing since February asking for help

PITTSBURGH — A family is asking for help in finding a 31-year-old woman who has not been seen since February.

Lavonna Dorsey was last seen at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, where she was recovering from an assault.

“She had called me the day before and she had said she got attacked. I guess the police picked her up and she got attacked in Homewood. She was in bad condition, had some broken ribs,” T.T. Dorsey, Lavonna Dorsey’s cousin, said.

Before her disappearance, Lavonna Dorsey had been living with her boyfriend in McKees Rocks.

T.T. Dorsey said it unusual not to hear from her cousin and family members are afraid that something has happened to her.

“I've contacted her dad, her little sister. No one has seen her. We've posted on her Facebook. No one has seen or heard nothing since about February,” T.T. Dorsey said.

Lavonna Dorsey’s sister, Lanika Dorsey, is also concerned. She and T.T. Dorsey have contacted police, who are investigating.

“At this point, I'm worried because, did someone try to come after her again? Did they succeed? Like, I don't know right now if my sister is dead or alive,” Lanika Dorsey said.
