Former manager of Zelienople softball team facing child porn charges

ZELIENOPLE, Pa. — The former manager of a girls’ softball team in Zelienople is facing child pornography charges.

James Sepik resigned two months ago, officials said, as manager of the Pittsburgh Pride girls’ softball league.

Police said they charged Sepik after a parent found a flash drive in the parking lot of a ball field in West Virginia. Investigators said the woman took it home and found 1,000 pornographic images on it and turned it over to authorities.

Officers later traced the flash drive to Sepik and arrested him.

Officials said he managed a team of girls 16 years old and younger.

Pittsburgh Pride released a statement Tuesday saying, “The Pittsburgh Pride fast pitch softball organization conducts yearly background checks on all managers and coaches. The individual in question, a former manager, was cleared on May 1, 2013 using the system.”
