CASTLE SHANNON. Pa.,None — A garbage truck driver pulled down two poles with live wires and a transformer in Castle Shannon Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened along McRoberts Road, according to 911 dispatchers.
The Allied Waste truck driver told police that he was travelling north on McRoberts Road when he believed a car coming in the opposite direction was infringing on his lane.
The driver said when he moved over, the overhead lift on the truck caught on to some wires and pulled down two telephone poles.
Investigators said the driver of the truck was not hurt. Neighbors said they heard the crash happen then immediatley saw sparks.
McRoberts Road is closed while crews work to clear the road. Duquense Light crews have shut off the power to the poles.
