MIAMI, Fla. — A 6-year-old girl born with her heart outside her chest is now asking the community to help give her life-saving surgery, NBC Miami reports.
Virsaviya Borun-Goncharova is a Russian native raised by single mother, Dari Borun. She was born with a condition called Pantalogy of Cantrell, where her heart developed outside her chest and her intestines outside of her stomach. Virsaviya also has no abdominal muscles or a diaphragm, NBC Miami reports.

“When she started to cry, I saw how her heart and her intestine go out,” said Borun to NBC Miami. “Every day, she comes over and asks me, ‘Can you touch my heart?'”
“My heart is right here. It’s outside of my chest and I really love my mom, she’s always touching my heart because she likes it,” Virsaviya told NBC Miami.
She and her mother moved from Russia to Hollywood, Florida and found a doctor in Boston who can perform surgery to fix Virsaviya’s condition.
The family created a fundraising page on youcaring.com titled "Bathsheba's Heart." So far they have raised $5,790 with a goal of $20,000.
“Even when doctors are able to perform the surgery, she may require several very complicated operations, and the medical expenses will be great,” the web page states.
“It’s gonna be expensive for sure and I tried to work with (a) social worker and she said we don’t have (an) opportunity to apply for insurance,” Dari said to NBC Miami.
