PITTSBURGH,None — Target 11 consumer reporter Robin Taylor has uncovered several deals on popular websites like Groupon and Living Social that don't actually save the consumer much money.
Dozens of complaints against the two sites were filed online by consumer groups, Taylor reported.
One of the biggest complaints about the sites is deceiving deals, often involving high-end services such as spa treatments, massages and wine bar discounts.
Customers complained that the businesses that sold the discount coupons on Groupon and Living Social oftentimes increased their normal prices when the deal was presented.
According to the consumer group She Finds, consumers should watch out for deals on skydiving, plastic surgery, Botox and other surgeries.
The group also said consumers should avoid purchasing deals on auto services.
