PITTSBURGH — An investigation is underway after family members say their son was found beaten to death near a business in Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood.

Glenn Pawloski was working Friday night at Fiori's Pizzaria on Capital Avenue when Jordan Bozich came in a few hours before the alleged attack.%

“To think he was here Friday, and all of a sudden he's gone. It's very sad,” Pawloski told Channel 11 News Tuesday. “He's just a friendly, nice guy. Comes in here five to six days a week.”

Bozich's family members said they think something happened when Bozich got to his car around the back of the building, forcing him to run and collapse in an alleyway where police found him.

Bozich's brother told Channel 11 News that Bozich was brutally beaten and had bleeding on his brain.

“You never expect something like this to happen,” Pawloski said.

Family and friends are remembering Bozich as a kind, gentle person who liked basketball and snowboarding and was an avid shoe collector.

According to his obituary, Bozich worked at Nakama restaurant on Pittsburgh’s South Side. His manager said his co-workers are shocked and shaken up about his death.

Authorities so far have not said much about their investigation into Bozich’s death. An autopsy has not yet been done since Bozich’s organs are in the process of being harvested for donation.

Family members said they hope someone who saw something will come forward.

Police said they’re reviewing surveillance video from Fiori's Pizzaria.

“It's been rough thinking about it. A lot of co-workers knew him well,” Pawloski said.
