PHOENIX, ARIZONA — It took three days, but an Arizona kitten is safe and sound after spending at least two nights in a storm drain.

Over the three days, rescuers from the Arizona Humane Society lowered food to the five-week-old kitten as they waited for the city of Phoenix's help to gain access via a manhole.  Finally, after three days, this kitten rose from the drain.

The rescue was just as exciting for the kitten as it was for her rescuer.

The tiny cat has been checked out by a vet and is in relatively good health.

She will stay in foster care while she fully recovers before she is put up for adoption.
