SAXONBURG, Pa.,None — It was an emotion night at Knoch High School Friday as tributes were held in honor of Alexis Summers.
Summers, 17, was killed Tuesday night when her car struck a tree in Jefferson Township.
Students, coaches and parents said goodbye to the cheerleader in many different ways.
Cheerleaders wore buttons with Alexis' picture. Friends wore shirts with her picture on them. The football players placed stickers with her initials on their helmets.
"It's not the same. It's not the same game," JV cheerleader Cheyenne Martin said. "Everything has changed."
During the game, raffle tickets were sold to help raise money for a scholarship fund set up in memory of Summers.
Knoch defeated West Allegheny 28-7 to move on to the quarterfinals of the WPIAL AAA playoffs.
