LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. — A Lawrence County home erupted in flames early Wednesday morning while a family with several children was inside.

According to a news release issued by the Neshannock Fire Department, when emergency officials arrived at the home 40-year-old Jennifer Bees had already gotten her 6-year-old out of the house.

Firefighters said Bees then ran back into the burning home to get her son. A police officer went into the home and found Bees in a bedroom with her 16-year-old.

That officer then dragged the teenager out of the house through a window and performed CPR. Bees also escaped through a window with the help of officers.

At that point, officials said Bees told them that her 11-year-old was home, but it was later discovered the girl was with her father.

Firefighters said Bees was panicked and disoriented, forgetting that her 11-year-old was not home.

The 16-year-old was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital via helicopter. His condition was not immediately released.

Bees was taken to Jameson Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor burns. The 6-year-old was also taken to Jameson Memorial Hospital to be checked out.
