NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — Two teens have been charged in a shooting that left one man dead and two others injured Monday.
Investigators said the crime happened along Rebecca Street in North Braddock shortly before 7 p.m.
Police said when they arrived, two men were found inside an apartment with gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a nearby hospital, where Kierre Simmons, 25, of Shadyside, died.
A third shooting victim drove himself to the hospital and has since been treated and released.
"When we heard the gunshots, my son ran upstairs scared and I thought, oh, they're probably just playing," said Shatora Jordan, a neighbor. "We could've been caught to the point where I opened my door and told them to grow up, because I thought they were just playing around."
According to Allegheny County police, Fredderick Holland and Justin Gomez, both 18, are each facing criminal homicide charges.
Gomez, who told police that Simmons showed up at his apartment with another man for a drug deal, is also facing receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence charges.
Holland reportedly told police that he was discussing a price for a .22 caliber handgun when the man Simmons was with pulled out a gun.
Officials said five shots were fired from three different guns.
