1 person hospitalized after stabbing outside Family Dollar store

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — McKees Rocks police said one person was hospitalized after a stabbing outside a Family Dollar store Tuesday night.

Police said the victim is currently at Allegheny General Hospital and is in “bad shape.”

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, ran from the scene on Chartiers Avenue but was later captured, authorities said.

While being led away by police, the suspect admitted that he stabbed the victim but said it was in self-defense.

“I was protecting myself,” he said. “My sister and her boyfriend, they came at me.”
