1 taken to hospital after explosion, fire in Greensburg mobile home

One person was burned and taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after an explosion and fire at a mobile home in Greensburg early Wednesday.

The fire was reported around 12:40 a.m. from the 400 block of Fox Hill Street. Greensburg Volunteer Fire Chief Tom Bell told Channel 11 an explosion was reported. He said he lives near the area and heard a second explosion. He said he’s not sure what caused it, but ruled out propane.

A man living in the home was able to escape. He had burns to his hands and was taken by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital, Bell said.

Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours. The home is a total loss, Bell said.
