JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. — An adult and nine children were injured Friday morning in a crash involving a horse-drawn buggy in Jefferson County.
Officials said the crash happened around 11 a.m. on Route 119 in Big Run Borough.
According to police, a Jeep hit the buggy while trying to pass it, leaving the buggy overturned.
All of the injured passengers were taken to the Punxsutawney Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The horse pulling the buggy was not injured.
One lane of the road was closed until just before 12:30 p.m. while crews cleared the scene and investigated, but regular traffic resumed Friday afternoon.
The driver of the Jeep, Barbara Keller, was not injured in the crash. She was cited for careless driving and overtaking a vehicle on the left.
