17-year-old drowns in Slippery Rock Creek

SLIPPERY ROCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Rescue crews recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy from Slippery Rock Creek in Slippery Rock Township Sunday evening.

Officials said the boy was swimming with friends in the creek about 4:30 p.m. when he went under water and didn't resurface.

"Someone jumped in, no one saw it happen, and everyone heard the word 'help,' and then everyone looked and the kid was gone," said Morgan Lukavich.

The teenager's name has not been released.

Police are investigating.
