PITTSBURGH — Elijaha Feight, 19, is facing charges after investigators say they linked him to a recent street takeover in Pittsburgh involving nearly 100 vehicles.
Investigators allege several videos helped them identify Feight in connection with the incident. The activity began on Beaver Avenue in Chateau before nearly 100 vehicles dispersed and gathered near the Amazon warehouse in Chartiers.
Police say Beaver Avenue has become a popular location for drag racing, burnouts and other street takeovers because of its relatively flat, straight roadway.
Feight reportedly jumped in front of an officer who was attempting to stop a driver for performing burnouts outside the Amazon Warehouse. The driver was later arrested.
Dash camera footage from the car of the man arrested shows Feight at the street takeover, investigators say. Police also used videos posted to social media to connect him to the street takeover.
In one video, Feight allegedly admitted to blocking police.
Police said they were able to further link Feight to the social media videos by using the registration of his vehicle.
Street takeovers and similar stunts are often recorded and posted to social media, according to authorities.
