PERRYOPOLIS, Pa. — Two people are dead, and another person was critically injured following a crash involving a motorcycle on Route 51 in Fayette County.
Emergency crews were called to the 3530 block of Pittsburgh Road in Perryopolis near Randall’s Restaurant around 11:51 a.m.
State police confirmed two people were killed in the crash, the motorcyclist and the driver of the other vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
At around 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker identified the victims as Larry Hall, 81, of Belle Vernon and Frank McKula, 41, of Grindstone.
Baker said McKula was driving the motorcycle that crashed into Hall’s vehicle at a high rate of speed. The person who was taken to a hospital was Hall’s passenger.
“Please remember the families and friends of those impacted by the deaths of these individuals this evening in your thoughts and prayers,” Baker said.
Route 51 was shut down in both directions between Rehoboth Church Road and Constitution Street.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
