STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Three people were able to escape a fire that destroyed a Stowe Township home early Thursday morning.

Firefighters said they were called to the house on Highland Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

When they arrived, emergency responders said flames were shooting out of the 2-and-a-half story home.

They were able to escape, and no injuries were reported.

Two people who live at the home and a visitor were there at the time of the blaze.

Neighbor Dawn O’Donnell lives two houses down and said she woke up when she smelled smoke.

“I ran out and I noticed that the house next door was on fire,” O’Donnell said.

The fire melted some power lines, cutting power to neighbor Christine Scott’s home for a short time.

“I didn’t know what to do and all that. I have my baby in the house, so I got worried,” Scott said.

Officials said the house is a complete loss. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
