PITTSBURGH — Two men are accused of parachuting from the construction site of a Carnegie Mellon University building.
Court records obtained by Channel 11 show Pittsburgh police were sent to the South Neville Street parking lot Thursday at 9:38 p.m.
A CMU parking security officer told police he was in the lot when he heard a parachute above him and saw two people land in front of him.
The security officer claimed the two had jumped from either the new Richard King Mellon Building being built nearby or the crane located on site.
Police note that the site is fenced in, with signs telling people without permission to stay out.
Police stopped a truck that was trying to leave the lot. The two people inside claimed they were there to see a friend.
The security officer identified those two as the suspects, and police took them into custody.
Surveillance video reportedly caught the two parachuting in the air and landing in the lot.
Online court records show Jason Stanicar, 31, and Bader Majdi Abulaban, 37, are charged with criminal trespass and conspiracy. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for Oct. 5.
