PITTSBURGH — Two men were hurt when shots were fired in Pittsburgh late Friday night.
A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson said officers were sent to Brighton Road at Woods Run Avenue — along the edge of the city’s Brighton Heights and Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood border — around 11:30 p.m. for two separate ShotSpotter alerts indicating four rounds fired.
Soon after police were dispatched, the spokesperson said two men separately arrived at a hospital in private vehicles. One was shot in the leg, the other was grazed in the head and hand.
Both men are said to be in stable condition.
The spokesperson said officers did locate a crime scene in the area of the ShotSpotter alerts. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence, including recovered shell casings.
Witnesses reportedly told investigators there was possibly an altercation among a group of men before the shooting.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
