2 Pagan Motorcycle Club members charged with attack of 70-year-old man at Pittsburgh-area bar

LOWER BURRELL, Pa. — Lower Burrell Police have charged two members of the Pagans Motorcycle Club with robbery and assault following the attack of a 70-year-old man at a local pub.

Robert Browne, 27 and Devin Colucci, 25, appeared for a preliminary hearing on March 31, where all charges against them were held for court.

The charges stem from a Jan. 22 incident at Mogie’s Irish Pub on Leechburg Road. Investigators say the two men, who are affiliated with what police described as an outlaw motorcycle gang, targeted the victim during a dispute over his clothing and his presence in the area.

The 70-year-old victim told investigators he noticed two patrons in the restaurant who were associated with the Pagans. Approximately 10 minutes later, Colucci and Browne arrived at the establishment. Colucci allegedly confronted the man in the parking lot, stating he could not leave the pub while wearing an “Outlaw OMG” shirt. Colucci also told the victim he was not allowed in the area because it was considered territory belonging to the Pagans, according to authorities.

When the victim and Colucci attempted to reenter the pub following the parking lot confrontation, Browne and Colucci allegedly began a physical attack. According to police reports, the suspects ripped the victim’s shirt, bounced him off the bar and kicked him. The assault also resulted in the victim’s glasses being broken.

Detectives used multiple forms of technology to confirm the victim’s account of the incident. Surveillance video from the pub corroborated the details of the assault. Lower Burrell Police also reviewed data from license plate readers, which showed Colucci and Browne’s vehicles at specific locations and times that matched the events leading up to and following the attack.

Both men face a series of criminal counts, including robbery, simple assault, theft, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and harassment. Colucci is facing an additional charge for the possession of a prohibited and offensive weapon.

Following the March 31 hearing, both men were returned to the Westmoreland County Prison. They are each being held on $300,000 bail.
