UNIONTOWN, Pa. — Uniontown police arrested three suspects and have issued warrants for three others following several armed robberies that occurred during the past month, all involving attempted purchases on the classified advertisement web site Craigslist.

According to police, Ishmael Deshields, Xavier Thomas and Josh Fitzgerald were arrested over the weekend. Police also said arrest warrants have been issued for Kyle Bass, Roy Johnson Jr. and Warare Wilkerson.

Investigators said there were three separate robberies where prospective buyers went to locations in Uniontown to make purchases of items listed on Craigslist. In each instance, the buyers arrived and were confronted by armed suspects waiting to rob them.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

“We were able to track down those devices that were used and then we were able to research, find out all of the transactions and all of the communications that took place,” Uniontown police Chief Jason Cox said.

Officials urge prospective buyers to use caution while making transactions via Craigslist and to be alert for suspicious activity.

Anyone with information on Bass, Johnson or Wilkerson’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.
