3-year-old found unresponsive in McKeesport pool

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A young girl nearly drowned in a McKeesport home's pool on Monday.

Police said they were called to the home on Cleveland Street when a 3-year-old girl was found unresponsive in the water.

Investigators said the family was having a party when they saw the child at the bottom of the pool. Relatives said they pulled the girl out and attempted CPR.

When medics arrived, the girl was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

"They say she's OK now. She's breathing. She's on a ventilator and her heart is beating OK. So I'm hoping everything is OK with her," said neighbor Gloria Abraham.

"To see a little girl in the bottom of the pool, I don't know what I would have done," neighbor Danielle Dubyak said. "It's scary and it's just sad. I hope this little girl pulls it off and makes it."

There is no word on the girl's condition.

Allegheny County police continue to investigate. Officials have not said if any charges will be filed.
