7 hospitalized after cardboard box derby crash at Maryland ski resort

DEEP CREEK, Md. -- At least seven people were injured Saturday afternoon in a crash during a cardboard box derby in Deep Creek, Maryland.

Authorities said two people were airlifted and five were taken by ambulance after the accident at the WISP Ski Resort.

Officials said 14 people were in one of sleds when it crashed into a snow-making machine.

The victim’s names and conditions have not been made available.
