HARMAR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Multiple people were taken to a hospital after a crash in Harmar Township involving three vehicles, including a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus.

Police, firefighters and medics were called to Freeport Road near the intersection of Pearl Avenue around 7:22 a.m.

An SUV appears to have crashed into a utility pole and has heavy front-end damage. The PRT bus has damage to its right front side. A tri-axle truck was also involved.

Seven people were taken to a hospital: six people from the bus, and one from the SUV.

First responders on scene told Channel 11 it is believed that the tri-axle tried turning right on red at Pearl Avenue onto Freeport Road, while the bus traveling down Freeport Road had the green light.
