ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A photo posted to Facebook of an Allegheny County prosecutor and a Pittsburgh police officer holding military-style weapons violates protocol, officials with the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office told Channel 11's news partners at TribLIVE.

Pittsburgh Police Officer Garret Bickmore posted the photo Thursday night of him and Assistant District Attorney Julie Jones posing with a tactical 12-gauge pump-action shotgun and a semi-automatic rifle, with the caption, "You should take the plea." Both weapons are evidence in a criminal investigation, TribLIVE reported.

A spokesman for the DA's office told TribLIVE that Jones conduct is "contrary to office protocol.

”Meanwhile, a public safety spokeswoman said the office is “discussing the matter internally.”

As of Friday evening, the original post appeared to have been deleted from Bickmore’s Facebook account.

Neither Jones, an assistant district attorney since 2012, nor Bickmore, a police officer since 2013, returned calls from TribLIVE seeking comment.
