PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office has filed the first charges in an ongoing investigation into Pittsburgh City Hall finances under former Mayor Ed Gainey.
Online court records show the DA’s office has charged Emmett Miles with 29 felonies, including theft by deception, receiving stolen property and corruption.
11 Investigates first reported last week that Miles is the head of a nonprofit in Homewood called Fishers of Men. Sources told us the organization received more than $300,000 in taxpayer grant money from the state, Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh for community programs, but the funds were never delivered to those initiatives.
Channel 11 is working on getting a copy of the criminal complaint. This story will be updated as we learn more.
