Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office releases dates for 2025 satellite gun permit events

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office has released its schedule for satellite gun permit events in 2025.

The agency scheduled special courthouse hours or satellite events once every month. At these events, county residents can obtain or renew a firearm permit — as long as they have filled out an application, have a valid ID and come with $20 cash.

The satellite events happen throughout the county, including Elizabeth Township, Ohio Township, Allegheny Valley and Oakdale.

Sheriff Kevin Krauss holds these first-come, first-serve events for people who can’t get to the courthouse during normal business hours. It’s a part of his ongoing effort to bring government services to the community.
