Demonstrators protesting event held at Pitt previously called ‘anti-trans’

PITTSBURGH — Protestors on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus blocked a portion of a busy roadway in Oakland on Monday evening.

Demonstrators were at the corner of Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard protesting a controversial event being held at the university.

The university said it is committed to upholding the principles of free speech.

The event, called “Gender: Who Decides? A debate on transgenderism and womanhood,” was called anti-trans in a recent petition.
