BALDWIN, Pa. — A Baldwin man is facing a number of charges for what police say they found on a GoPro Camera.

The investigation began after an incident at a Virginia waterpark. Channel 11 has learned this isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble over an incident like this.

James Wright, 45, is behind bars at the Allegheny County Jail, facing multiple felony charges.

In 2017, police used surveillance video to identify Wright, who they say had been taking pictures of young children at Kennywood Park and performed a sex act near juveniles while in line for a ride.

According to a criminal complaint, local police received a tip back in August that Wright, a registered sex offender, had been removed from the waterpark after patrons complained that he was using the camera to film them.

The current situation is similar. According to the criminal complaint, police found Wright to be in violation of his probation and searched electronic devices belonging to him.

On them, they found “numerous videos, depicting [...] recordings of adult women and female children [that] appear to have been taken in various public places, such as stores and public swimming pools.”

Another recording, allegedly taken at his home in Baldwin, showed Wright performing a sex act in his bedroom while two young girls were inside. The complaint says they had their backs turned and that Wright’s face was visible in a mirror at one point.

Channel 11 went to the address listed in the complaint. Someone answered the door but shut it quickly.

Neighbors spoke to Channel 11 off-camera and told us they are disturbed by the allegations.

At last check, Wright is currently awaiting his preliminary hearing.
