PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh travelers were among the thousands impacted nationwide following a Southwest Airlines technical glitch on Tuesday morning.

The glitch prompted officials to halt departures.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the issue was a “technical issue with one of their internal systems,” and that service resumed about 15 minutes after a ground stop was issued.

Around noon, a spokesman for Pittsburgh International Airport said that more than half of the flights coming in and out of Pittsburgh were delayed; there were 50 total flights, and 29 were seeing delays of about an hour or less.

“I’m not hysterical, but I’m not happy,” one traveler told us, adding that she had not received an email notifying her of the delay.

Some travelers told us that they will remain loyal Southwest flyers, being fond of the discounted rates and the baggage policy.
