An Apollo man is accused of voting multiple times in the 2024 presidential election.
Jeffrey Pope, 64, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of violating federal voting laws.
According to the indictment, Pope completed and submitted mail-in ballots in both Alaska and Pennsylvania for the same election. Prosecutors said Pope knowingly and willfully signed a false declaration on his Pennsylvania ballot stating he was qualified to vote and had not already voted.
The indictment alleges that Pope completed and submitted his Alaska mail-in ballot on or about Oct. 18, 2024. He then completed and submitted his Pennsylvania mail-in ballot on or about Oct. 22, 2024.
Pope has been registered to vote in Pennsylvania since 1999. He purchased property in Alaska in 2023.
The charges carry a maximum total sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.
The FBI conducted the investigation.
