Armstrong Tunnel will be restricted overnight for work next week

PITTSBURGH — The Armstrong Tunnel will be partially closed overnight next week for work.

Duquesne Light Company will conduct underground infrastructure work in the inbound Armstrong Tunnel starting Monday, Sept. 14.

The inbound tunnel lane will be closed and the outbound lane will remain open.

The closures will take place nightly from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. across two work weeks: Monday, Sept. 14, through Friday, Sept. 18 and Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 25.

Motorists traveling during the overnight closure hours should follow posted detour routes.

Traffic will be rerouted using Second Avenue to Ross Street to Forbes Avenue, or via the 10th Street Bridge to Ross Street to Forbes Avenue.
