HOPEWELL, Pa. — Hopewell Township police have arrested a man accused in a home invasion in April.
Officers told Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz that 25-year-old Joseph Arlott is charged with aggravated assault. Officials said Arlott had done yard work for Santia in the past.
According to police, Arlott, along with two other people, went to 82-year-old Dan Santia’s house and forced their way inside.
Authorities said once inside, the suspects used a miniature baseball bat and a phone cord to assault Santia.
“It was awful. They tied him up and beat him while stealing money and jewelry,” Hopewell Township Police Chief Gene Ungarean said.
Police told Marcinkiewicz that Arlott bragged to a friend about the incident and that person alerted authorities.
Officials said Santia is still in an area hospital recovering from the incident. His condition has not been released.
