Arrest warrant issued for man in connection with September fatal shooting at local gas station

PENN HILLS, Pa. — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Verona man in connection with a September fatal shooting at a Penn Hills gas station.

Michael Damar Wade, 36, has been charged with criminal homicide.

Wade is described as approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds. Police said he has ties to the Penn Hills area and the North Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Anyone who sees Wade should call 911 immediately.

The shooting happened on Sept. 9 around 7:16 p.m. at the Exxon station in the 4900 block of Allegheny River Boulevard.

According to police, the victim’s SUV was parked at a pump. The victim, Dante Benjamin Jones, 34, from Pittsburgh, was shot multiple times while sitting inside his vehicle.

Jones was taken to a hospital where he later died.
