BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — Authorities said weather is to blame for a crash that killed a 19-year-old woman Monday afternoon in Butler County.
According to police, the crash was reported on Route 38 in Center Township just after noon. State police identified the victim as Paige Organ.
Investigators said Organ failed to navigate a bend in the road and crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was traveling in the opposite lane. Organ was pronounced dead at the scene.
“I can’t even wrap my mind around this. I can’t even form sentences – it’s too fresh,” Organ’s friend Pete Gall said.
Gall said Organ had just left her boyfriend’s house and was on her way home. The crash took place just a few miles from her home.
“This shouldn’t have happened. She was such a good person,” Gall said.
