MONACA, Pa. — Emergency crews responded to a fire at a Beaver County glass factory on Saturday.
Crews were called to the Stoelzle Glass USA Inc. plant on Ninth Street in Monaca at 4:47 p.m., per Beaver County 911 dispatchers.
Photos from the scene show smoke and flames rising from the building.
Monaca Fire Chief Michael Siegel says the fire was caused by a ruptured high-pressure oil line on a machine located on the hot end of the plant. The leaking oil entered the roof-mounted ventilation system, where heat from the furnace ignited the oil.
The fire was under control, and crews were cleaning up by 6 p.m., dispatchers said.
Stoelzle Glass President Nigel Dart says the damage only affected one production line. Remediation is underway and the impacted line will resume operations within four days.
All other lines are operational and no supply disruption is expected.
