Beer here! Penn State approves Beaver Stadium alcohol sales

Nittany Lions fans have another reason to get happy.

Penn State’s Board of Trustees has approved alcohol sales for those 21 and older in Beaver Stadium.

Channel 11 news partner the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports numerous beer stations will be placed throughout the stadium, though none in close proximity to the student section.

Beaver Stadium has sold alcohol in its club and suites areas since 2016. It is not clear when general alcohol sales will begin.

Fans will be able to purchase up to two beers at a time.

The university is hoping controlled alcohol sales will reduce alcohol-related incidents on game days.
