PITTSBURGH — Lucas Goeller, the 2-year-old boy who has captured the attention of Pittsburgh and the entire nation, is recovering after undergoing a procedure to clear up an infection Monday
According to the Save Lucas Facebook page, the procedure went well and a drain was placed into Lucas' liver in hopes that it will help the infection to flow out.

The organ was directly donated to him by the family of 3-year-old Olivia Swedberg, a girl from Nebraska who died less than two months after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

Lucas received a liver transplant last month. Shortly after the surgery, Lucas developed a rare form of rejection that caused the main artery to his liver to be lost.
At the time, doctors said the liver may be able to heal itself over time.
His family says Lucas's story has raised awareness about organ donation.
