BROWNSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. — Authorities say a Pennsylvania high school senior had been chasing another vehicle and was being pursued by police when he smashed his car into a building, killing himself.
Troopers are expected to release more information Tuesday on the crash that killed 18-year-old Brownsville student Andre Smith.
Police say Smith had been chasing another driver, who called 911 for help.

Police intervened and tried to pull over Smith but say he wouldn't stop.
Police say Smith then drove the wrong way on a main street in town, failed to make a turn and smashed his car into an apartment building at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday.
Police say a "criminal incident" led to the chase. They haven't elaborated on that.
Smith died of his injuries at Uniontown Hospital.
Three police chases in less than a month have ended in a fatality.
In one instance, the man accused of leading officers on a chase is facing charges in connection with the death of an innocent woman, who died after a cruiser chasing him crashed into her SUV.
Jonathan Switch, 23, of McClellandtown, is charged with homicide. His mother claims it’s not his fault and that he didn’t kill anyone.
“The family is obviously concerned for their son,” defense attorney Jack Connor said outside court on Monday.
State police said they pulled over Switch Oct. 23 after he was seen swerving in and out of his lane on Route 119. As the trooper approached the window, Switch sped off.
Police said the pursuit lasted five minutes before they called it off for safety reasons. Moments later, the cruiser crashed into Bendetta Miller’s SUV.
“He is incredibly remorseful anyone passed, not his desire in any way. It's horrible,” Connor said.
State police said Switch was driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI and had an illegal license plate.
