PITTSBURGH — Building design and consulting firm AE Works has relocated its headquarters from outside the city to the historic Union Trust Building in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor joined company leadership and staff Friday to mark the opening of the new downtown office.

The relocation brings the architecture and engineering firm back to the city where it originally launched as a startup.

As AE Works approaches its 20th anniversary in 2027, the move provides a central location for its growing staff while strengthening ties with clients, partners and the broader Pittsburgh business community.

“We are excited to be welcoming AE Works back Downtown,” O’Connor said. “This is a great investment in the vibrancy and future of our city by bringing more people, more jobs and expanding our tax base. Thank you to AE Works – and other companies who are relocating to the city – for choosing Pittsburgh and being an important part of the energy and connectivity of Downtown.”

AE Works founder and CEO Michael Cherock said, “Pittsburgh is where AE Works started and we believe strongly in where the city is headed. There is real momentum Downtown and we want to be part of it. We are excited about the leadership O’Connor and others are bringing to Pittsburgh and proud to make this investment in the city’s future.”
