‘Burglary kit' being sold on Craigslist raises eyebrows in Millvale; Police investigating

MILLVALE, Pa. — A "burglary kit" being sold in the Pittsburgh area on Craigslist, which includes gloves and bolt cutters, is raising some eyebrows.

Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic discovered the peculiar listing -- which states that it is being sold out of Millvale for $30.

Included in the kit are two 14-inch bolt cutters, three files, one mini-flashlight, one Stanley box cutter, one CO2 container and one pair of "performance" gloves.

Tomazic alerted Millvale police of the listing. The chief told Channel 11 News that they are now looking into whether there is anything they can do about it.
The listing was posted three days ago in the For Sale section of the site.

"I think it's a little sad that people get away with that. It's also scary." Millvale resident Mary Ziegenfoos said. "I live here, and I don't want anybody breaking into my home. We work hard for our money."

Millvale resident Jennifer Herman said the post connects to her because her home was broken into over the summer.

"It concerns me, but it's also hilarious. If you look at the people who live around here -- it's just getting worse," Herman said.

Craigslist officials haven't commented on the post.
