PITTSBURGH — Traffic in and out of the West End remains heavily delayed as a landslide has shut down a busy part of Noblestown Road for more than a week.

The massive movement of soil reported Nov. 4 has shut down Noblestown Road between Weaver and Obey streets. The section will remain closed for at least the rest of this week, officials said.

Officials with the Department of Public Works said crews will need to stabilize the hillside, and they don't know how long that will take.

Public Works Director Rob Kaczoroski told Channel 11 News that until all of the loose material is gone and they rule the hillside is stable, the road will remain closed.

On Tuesday, crews could be seen removing loose dirt and debris from the landslide area, as well as cutting down trees the slide left unstable.

City officials said there are detour signs set up for drivers.
