A Butler County community will temporarily be without water on Thursday.
Pennsylvania American Water is conducting “critical work” along State Route 19 on Thursday, resulting in an outage for about 380 customers in Lancaster Township.
That outage is expected to start at 9 a.m. Thursday. Service should be restored by 5 p.m. the same day. Still, those impacted by the outage are encouraged to store water in advance to use during the service interruption.
Once service is restored, customers might experience temporarily cloudy or discolored water. If that occurs, let the water run for three to five minutes until water runs clear.
The expected work includes installing a new water service connection for a development project and two inline valves to enhance the reliability, resiliency and flexibility of the water system.
