BUTLER, Pa. — Starting this Friday night, Butler police plan to strictly enforce a ban on alcohol at the city's Friday night concerts in West New Castle Street Plaza.

Butler Mayor Tom Donaldson said families and alcohol don't mix.

"We don't need fights and people falling down drunk," he said.

Drinking was allowed in the plaza for three years.

"I feel that we've built momentum, and this will halt the momentum," said business owner Barry Cummings.

Cummings and other owners said they've seen their profits double on concert nights.
