Charges dropped against Fayette Co. man accused of shooting 12-year-old brother

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — Charges have been dropped against a Fayette County man charged in the shooting of his 12-year-old brother.

David Brooks faced several charges including assault, but at a hearing Tuesday morning the charges were withdrawn.

Brooks said he was taking a gun out of his pocket in Uniontown last September when it fired and hit his brother Timothy.

Brooks is expected to be released Tuesday afternoon.

The boy broke his hand and a bullet struck his stomach.
