PITTSBURGH — A new ranking from Early Childhood Educational Zone placed the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh as one of the top 25 children's museums in the entire country.
Ranked at No. 9, factors that were considered included, hands-on activities, food, cost, parking, memberships, restricted areas for toddlers/preschoolers, educational options and traveling exhibits.

According to Early Childhood Educational Zone, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh had record-setting attendance records in 2014, in large part to the popularity of Bounce and acclaimed children’s author, Eric Carle’s traveling exhibit. The museum was also given points for its more than 80,000 square feet of space that features numerous permanent hands-on and interactive exhibits.
Rounding out Early Childhood Educational Zone’s top 10 were the following children’s museums:

8. Port Discovery Children's Museum in Baltimore, Maryland

5. Glazer Children's Museum in Tampa, Florida
4. Children's Museum of Houston in Houston, Texas
3. Children's Museum of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona
2. California Science Center in Los Angeles, California
1. Children's Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana
