CLAIRTON, Pa. — The Clairton High School Football team has forfeited its game this Friday due to “personnel matters.”
Details regarding the personnel matters were not disclosed.
“The district is committed to handling all personnel matters appropriately and in accordance with district policy and applicable requirements. Because these matters are confidential, we cannot provide additional details. Coach Wade remains our head football coach,” school officials said on its Clairton Middle/High School Facebook page.
The Bears were scheduled to play Steel Valley this Friday at 7 p.m. following their season-opening loss against Farrell this past Saturday.
“We understand the disappointment this may cause and appreciate the understanding and support of our student-athletes, Steel Valley’s student-athletes, and both communities,” the district added to the Facebook post. “We look forward to continuing our season next week and moving forward together.”
