CMU names entrepreneur to lead Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship

PITTSBURGH — Carnegie Mellon University has a new leader of its entrepreneurship school.

On Friday, it was announced that Damion Shelton would be taking on the role of vice president and executive director of the Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship.

Shelton, who is an entrepreneur, tech executive and CMU alumnus, will start in his new role on Aug. 17.

“Damion represents the very best of Carnegie Mellon,” said President Farnam Jahanian in a statement. “He is a distinguished alumnus who has demonstrated how bold ideas, world-class research and entrepreneurial ambition can come together to create transformative technologies and companies. We are thrilled to welcome him back to lead this important next chapter for the Swartz Center.”
