ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A code orange air quality alert has been issued for our area on Monday.
The areas under the alert include Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
Lingering smoke from the wildfires in Canada and temperatures in the upper 80s will contribute to the air quality.
Young children, the elderly and those with respiratory problems, such as asthma, emphysema, and bronchitis, are especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution and should limit outdoor activities during this time.
