Collier Development plans to demolish three Uptown buildings across from PPG Paints Arena

PITTSBURGH — On Tuesday, the City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission listened to a proposal to demolish multiple buildings in Pittsburgh’s Uptown.

The proposal, submitted by Collier Development Co., would demolish the three commercial buildings located at 1100 Fifth Ave. in Uptown, across from PPG Paints Arena. The goal is to eventually build a six-story mixed-use building with retail and parking on the first floor and residential units on the upper levels.

However, the planning commission was only reviewing an application for a demolition, not a development, on Tuesday.
